I have to confess that this is not one of my favorite plots. It brings me back to being a kid and wanting to get "out" - I always felt trapped in a little Midwestern town with idiots and narrow minded bigots who didn't understand me at all.
I identified with this way too much as a kid and seeing it again just brings it all back. I appreciate the writing, but I liked it better when there was more sci-fi focus - like when KJ had his hands in things as writer.
Lindsay did do a great job though. I think she earned the emmy
