I know that Martin E. Brooks was the only Rudy on The Bionic Woman, but Alan Oppenheimer's Rudy made Jaime bionic and (however briefly) Martin Balsam originated the character. Which Rudy was your ultimate favorite?

I've always thought of Oppenheimer's character as 'Doctor Rudy' and Brooks as 'Friend Rudy'.
I have to confess the only one I know is Brooks

Who apears to have a new spiritual book out.

S
Balsam was an excellent 'analytical' Rudy; it was a shame he didn't stick around a little longer, so more people could've seen his version of Rudy. Oppenheimer was in the original SMDM 2-parter, "The Bionic Woman", so you've seen him at least once, I'm guessing, but Brooks is the ultimate Rudy, and the one who played him on two networks at once.
Martin Balsam's Rudy was the best.

Martin E. Brooks was also a decent Rudy.

Alan Oppenheimer's was meh.

Really?

You've never seen "The Bionic Woman" parts 1 or 2 ?

Also everytime you watch the opening title credits of BW, it's Alan Oppenheimer's hands that you see conducting Jaime's hearing test.
A little more trivia:
Actually, this is about a SMDM episode, but it involves "The Rudys". In the SMDM pilot, when Balsam's Rudy is looking through the window into the OR, you see a very brief shot of Martin Brooks at the operating table.
When Martin Brooks took over the role, they made him wear a skull-cap/hairpiece to make his appearance more similar to Oppenheimer's. Thus, through the course of his run as Rudy, Brooks appeared to age...in reverse!

I've seen The Bionic Woman maybe twice - I guess it would be more appropriate to say that it's only Brooks that I think of.

I still think Brooks had hair implants after he started on the show. The combover he has in Welcome Home Jaime is just too real looking. I think I heard somebody else suggest that once.

How is that possible?

Was MEB cast as an extra for the pilot ?
According to the Wiki and several other sources, when the original pilot movie was broken down into two episodes for later television broadcasts, stock footage was added to flesh it out, and several clips from very early BW operating room scenes were part of what was used. So you will not see him in the pilot movie, but you will see him in the pilot episode 'Moon and the Desert".
Martin's my favourite Rudy

Martin E. Brooks is my favorite Rudy, and the one I remember best from watching BW & SMDM as a kid.
Did anyone see "West World"...where James Browlen and ...ohhhh what's his name...anyway, they go to this place where they can role play?

Some of the places a person could chose were, like, Ancient Rome, some place else and West World where you can play "Cowboys" Rolleyes Well, the characters you meet (in each fatasy land) are all robots. Oppenhimer is one of the main guys running the robots. Yul Brenner is a robot gone bad!

Amazing, the coincidences! Course don't know what came first...SMDM or West World.

Yes, I've got Michael Critchen's Westworld special edition DVD.

Yul Brynner was badass as the gunslinger. He was the original Dolenz robot.

The costar you're thinking of is a pre Quark pre Love at First Bite, Richard Benjamin.

I also have the entire "Beyond Westworld" TV series on DVD.

BTW Westworld proceeded SMDM's "Day of the Robot" by 10 weeks.
