Here are some animated gifs you can use as avatars ..
1st .. download them .. right click on them as select SAVE as ..
2nd .. use photobuckets ..http://photobucket.com/ .. IT's FREE! .. to store them and resize them - to resize them: click on the picture from your photobucket account and a menu will appear at the top of your picture - select RESIZE .. then TINY .. which fits this site requirements .. :
An avatar is a small identifying image shown under the author's name whenever they make a post.
The maximum dimensions for avatars are: 100x100 pixels.
The maximum file size for avatars is 1,000 KB.
3rd .. use the Photobucket URL direct link (2nd choice under the picture) on your USERCP menu here .. as you avatar link ..

ooohhhh .. you dont want to do THAT! I experimented a while back with Adobe Premiere .. and it is NOT easy .. regardless of what HE says .. using its image ready pack ..

I've made it just yesterday...
I used WIN DVD player to create the animated gif. It has an option that capture quick clips from any DVD. The problem is that the size of the gif is 240 X 180 and is tagged with a WIN DVD logo at the end of the clip. So, you've got to edit and transform the gif with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Image Ready in order to resize the thing to 100 X 100 as suggested by this forum, remove the end tag logo and finally make each picture that creates the animation show 0,5 seconds at the time. That will allow a more natural speed viewing. Quite complicated as you can see...
