I thought these two always played so well off of each other. The little nuances and glances when they are looking at the scrapbook with Jaime and preparing to tell her about her relationship with Steve made them seem like a real family, circling the wagons to help one of their own.
Martha Scott had one very particular thing in common with Lindsay - they could speak volumes with just facial expressions - especially in the eyes.

Martha was so good in "The Ten Commandments" as Moses' mother.

She first appears as Steve's Mom in "Coward" from the first season, I think. She's convincing as his Mom. Great episode.
I thought she was incredible in "Jaime's Mother" - she played understated jealousy very well.

She was really lovely and a great actress. I have to agree with Steven "Martha Scott had one very particular thing in common with Lindsay - they could speak volumes with just facial expressions - especially in the eyes."

It always bothered me that Steve's parents weren't even acknowledged in the reunion movies. Even if the characters were suppose to be dead, you think they would have mentioned it. Of course MS and FR were still living when all the movies were made. MS appeared to have been working up until 1990 and passed away in 2003. FR was still working as recent as 2003 and died in 2005. I'm not sure what MS's health was by the final movie in 1994, but if she was up to it, they should have definitely had her and FR at S & J's wedding. Then again, there was the peculiar absence of Steve's son Michael at the nuptials.

Helen and Jim were killed off in the later half of season 5 on the Six Million Dollar Man. That's probably the reason why they never appeared in the reunion movies. Sad
I was always curious to know why he didin't appear at the wedding of his father...
