The e-bay Bionic Merchandise discussion thread
I'm going to cross the threshold of geeksvile and start my SMDM and BW collection.

E-bay has got a lot of great stuff and I've just won my first bid :

Also before I start bidding on a Jaime Sommers action figure, does anyone know if she is suppose to have the rubber skin covering her right arm (like the Steve Austin figure) ?

I've never owned one, but my cousins did, and I remember there were two versions. On one, the doll had the rubbery skin that rolled up -- like the Steve Austin doll. And, on the other, she had little plastic flaps that lifted up.

I checked eBay, and here are a couple of pics of the two versions.

In the first pic, you can see the rubbery skin on the doll on the left. The doll on the right has the plastic flaps (seen in close-up in pic #2)....

RE: The e-bay Bionic Merchandise discussion thread
Thanks alot Brian. That's a big help.

Also, do you know if the Steve Austin, Oscar and Maskatron/(Dolenz robot) are suppose to have socks on their feet under their shoes?

I've could have sworn to remember that my older brother's Steve action figure had a white pair of socks and his Oscar figure had black socks.

Unforunately, I don't have an answer to that one. I'll try to look around to see if I can find out though.

RE: The e-bay Bionic Merchandise discussion thread
My collection at present mostly consists of print material:

1) One novel: _Welcome Home Jaime, Parts 1 & 2_(American cover)
2) One SMDM & TBW biography
3) All five Carleton comic books
4) The two annuals that were sold in Great Britain
5) The board game (I got when I was a kid)
6) Original set of TBW trading cards
7) The SMDM trading cards (only b/c the set has TBW on some of them)
8) "The Made For Each Other" trading cards
9) 1976 black & white ABC promotional postcard
10) Starlog #4 magazine
11) The coffee mug (I got when I was a kid)
12) Puzzle book (I got when I was a kid)
13) One Mad Magazine featuring TBW parody
----
11) _The Bionic Book_
12) DVDs: Seasons 1 & 2 (British version)
13) _TBW Kill Oscar_ CD (Joe Harnell's music)
----
I usually do not collect stuff. However, have acquired most of the above items since October 2007. Jaime Sommers was important to me as a kid---helped me with living overseas---so I figured what the heck---right?---I mean everyone has a passion for something. :-)

If you have any questions please ask!

Peace and Happiness!

Based on pictures I've found of the box, and from various ads, it does look like Col. Austin should have a pair of white socks.

This picture of Maskatron, from the Guests cannot see links in the messages. Please register to forum by clicking here to see links., doesn't show socks. But I don't know if that means the doll didn't come with them, or if the person who photographed theirs just didn't have them....

I can't find anything that would confirm either way whether or not Oscar had socks.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

They were also made and sold in the US as well.

Is there any behind the scenes production info articles.

In the 1978 _The Bionic Woman Annual_...There's a small story about Lindsay's stunt woman...Rita Egleston.
Also, in the 1978 _The Bionic Woman Annual_...There's a story about Maximilian (the bionic dog).

I have NEVER seen them for sale on ebay in the U.S. I wonder why that is the case?

RE: The e-bay Bionic Merchandise discussion thread
A long overdue belated Thanks nevs!

I finally won this item:

For the past few months I've been always being outbidded at the last moment by some chowderhead for a dollar but not this time.

This is an early draft for Fembots in Las Vegas which is rumored to be superior than episode itself.

The fembot in the vault is Lynda Wilson's duplicate

RE: The e-bay Bionic Merchandise discussion thread
To Collectors the SMDM all came with white socks and Oscar came with Black socks, Maskatron never came with any socks!

And another thing The Bionic Woman Figure was an ACTION FIGURE not a doll!!! Barbie was a doll, The Bionic Woman was all ACTION made for play that way! That's why she was sent out on MISSION's!!!!

Just keeping facts straight.....Right?

Mike

RE: The e-bay Bionic Merchandise discussion thread
Yep, that was another big disagreement between myself and the admin at the Bionic Wiki was because I kept refering to them as action figures instead of dolls.

Too Bad it said it on all the boxes! at least all of them that I collected for 20 years, so where's the disagreement? D, some people read only what they want to see, wait till some put words in your mouth and say you said this or that, that's the kind of thing that bothers me, False Statements it makes them out to be lie ers, you know what I mean.
